Happy new year! As 2017 drew to a close, it’s a good time to reflect on what the market did last year. Sales were down slightly in 2017 over 2016 when looking at the headwaters region of Caledon, Erin, Dufferin and Orangeville. 2352 homes sold in 2017, which was down around 12% from 2016.
The lack of inventory in the crazy springtime market contributed to this trend. With sales down last year, did prices drop as well?? On the contrary; prices rose substantially in all the headwaters areas. Orangeville average sale prices were up 17%, 18% in Dufferin, 19% in Caledon, and 21% in Erin!
We are entering 2018 with much more inventory on the market compared to 2017 so we will see what happens in the springtime of this year! All the best to everyone in 2018!
